Haven't seen the movie, but I had seen the credit in your imdb.com profile. I'll be sure to check it out soon.

Great story about the bat...especially having read The Ringer.

Have you been watching any of the 30 for 30 films on ESPN? Still surprising to see how many studs the USFL was able to sign to their league.

Saw the Colts doc, which was great. Did not see the USFL thing yet.

And after the hip surgery, College Boy got his wheels back. I can't believe you found that Louisville Slugger, THAT Louisville Slugger in a bunch of old prop bats. Wow. You know, they make those Louisville Sluggers right down here at Eighth and Main Street in a new bat factory/museum. It's kind of a cool tour if you're ever in town.

The guy who played the catcher who kept throwing up in the movie (Joe Something from The State, v-funny) came up to the plate with it the first day and I couldn't wait from them to yell "Cut!" I recognized it in a second. It was one of the first Lousiville Slugger one-piece metal softball bats. I wanted to steal it, but I knew they had days left to film and I don't do shit like that anymore

They should have just let you have it...

You ever hear Bill Parcells' impression of Bob Shepherd ordering breakfast? It's so good, he must have stolen it. Probably from you.

    "I'll have ... the numba 2 ... eggs....bacon ... toast ... orange juice .... coffee. Numba 2."

I heard Jon Miller do that, and I was sure he stole it from someone. Classic.

... Bill, they must have Beer League in heavy rotation on Showtime, I saw you and went right to your site, genius right? I am a big Bob & Tom fan (since 1994) , I enjoy all your books and saw you in the shot on Letterman a couple of weeks ago. I just had to comment , best of luck.

hope you wrote the great line that goes something like this ' you guys dissapoint me more than my kids ever have!"
  • billscheft · 1 month ago
My favorite line I didn't write is when the catcher strikes out for the tenth time, throws the bat down and storms off saying, "I'm gonna go home and get high...."
