Bill, you gotta love these guys. They've got your back! You're the best, Toast. I sort of dragged in after the fact and was amazed at the way it was handled. The Bill Scheft Nation rose up!

Really glad to hear you're back up and running Bill. Toast - that was some fine work! Kudos to you! Although I don't post here hardly ever, I DO read all the time. I'm a little shy in the posting area. But what a dedicated group of people! Bill, you are so fortunate to have such concerned and wonderful fans. But, the best part Bill, is that you really do deserve it!

To answer you question Bill, I'm better than I was, but my hip is taking a long time to get back to normal. I'm still on the cane and in quite a bit of pain. I am starting a new physio program and pain management program as well. Just so people here can get the full picture - Bill encouraged me and talked me through one of the toughest times of my life. He had never met me, yet he answered a random email from me about his hip. As we continued to talk via email, I eventually was told that I had to have a hip replacement and it happened on June 16. I'm only 36, so I was pretty concerned and worried. Without Bill's help and encouragement, I don't think I would have made it through, and certainly I would not have been as comforted as I was going into surgery. So, not only did he do all that for me, he also checked on me as I recovered and he still is, even in the middle of what was obviously a very bad day for him.

I think that proves why there are so many dedicated people who follow Bill, and why he is so loved. Thanks Bill, and I would do anything to help you out if I get the chance.

Maybe I'll post a little more often, but hopefully not to report that someone has had their email compromised!

Take care Bill! Is it safe to email now?

You should post comments more often...This is how "Bill Scheft Nation" becomes self-aware. By the way, what you have described is exactly why there IS a "Bill Scheft Nation." Get well soon, my new friend...

    Hi Prof,

You know, the more time that passes, the more I believe that. Now, with some new friends here, it really does make a huge difference to know that other people have gone through this (and worse) and are still here to talk about it. Thanks a lot Prof!

    Here I am, hangin'

    That's my gig, Professor.
Meahwhile, the show went long, so they had to edit a section out in the middle of that, where Dave was going on and on "Who had meat loaf?" and Jerry Foley, the director, took a shot of me, standing under the stairs, head down, shaking with laughter.
